After viewing the Phua Chu Kang's Rap Video, I feel that being Gracious is extremely important. Such small gestures can also improve our enviroment being polite and displaying great morality. Being Gracious is to be considerate of other's feeling by putting yourself in other's shoes,Showing respect and an act of politeness and generousity. By being Gracious, we can cultivate good manners, leaving tourist with good impressions of Singaporeans and accommodate others. Alternatively, saying "Thank You" , "Excuse me" or "Welcome" can show appreciations to others. The 3 articles criticised on how Singaporean's behaved in the cinemas, coffee shops and toilets , the public. Reading the articles made me obvious of the places and even speechless when the article mention that Singaporean's awful behavior in the public, being thoughtless of others. Our citizens are mostly self-centered and take the cleaners for granted ,thinking that 'it's their job and they get paid for it.' After our group discussions,I felt that cleaners should deserve the most respect as they have the most exhausting jobs and being paid the least amount of money. In cinemas , cleaners only have 15 mintues to clear up all the mess 200 people made. In the coffee shop, cleaners had to pick up all the bones and repelling substances from the tables. Worst of all, the cleaners had to tolerate the nasty remarks and pressure from the next diners. Therefore , Let's cultivate good gracious habits and modernise to a more characterized by kindness and warm courtesy citizens.Done by: Tracy

My thoughts on what I had done in class so far. Firstly, we watched a PCK rap video - A Happy Journey Starts Today, teaching about graciousness. Though there are priority seats in the Mrt trains for the old people, disabled people and pregnant lady, people not in those catogories still occupy priority seats . That is not very considerate of them as the seats are meant for the old people, disabled people and pregnant lady. This is also an evidence that Singaporeans are not gracious. This video also teaches Singaporeans how to be gracious as it is repeatedly shown in all Mrt platforms.
Another video that we watched, is about a News Report Regarding A Man quiting his banking job to mobilise "Gracious Movements" in Singapore. Saying “sorry” and “thank you” are what Mr Cyrus hopes to see more of in his fellow Singaporeans. From this video, I can tell that graciousness meant alot to him so much so that he quited his job to roll out what is believed to be the first citizen-initiated “Gracious Movement" . Every Singaporeans want others to be gracious yet they themselves are not showing graciousness to others. I hope the public would join the movement and together help Singapore be a gracious society.
Reflection 1 - Sarita.
Graciousness is something everybody wants to see but nobody wants to be the first to take action. Thus, there is a need for people like Mr Cyrus Ang to encourage Singaporeans to be more gracious. Graciousness can be shown in many different ways, and could be displayed in many different locations. Now, whenever you're travelling by MRT, a commercial on promoting graciousness will be shown on the television screen every now and then.
And from this video, we can see that the purpose of showing this video at the MRT platforms, is to remind people to be gracious and how they can do it. I feel that by putting some culture of Singapore, like the "Singlish" spoken, reflects on how Singaporeans behaved and they don't display their gracious actions even in public. So the purpose is just to teach them and make sure they are reminded everytime to be gracious, even in public places.
